Recommended Cleaning Instructions
for Instruments
Care should be taken to ensure both proper cleaning and
longevity. The recommended method for decontamination is
thorough cleaning followed by steam sterilisation using the
following procedures:
Manual cleaning:
Prior to autoclaving we recommend the instruments are placed in
an Ultrasonic cleaner to remove any contaminants. The instruments
should then be thoroughly rinsed and dried prior to autoclaving.
Automated cleaning:
HTM2030 up to 90-95
o
C – pH10.5
NB: Ensure the handles are in the open position and allow the
joints to dry afterwards also, always lubricate before and after
sterilisation. We recommend the use of DT77 Silicone Lubricant
O/No 60-906 (see below), as this material will resist wash out
during autoclaving.
Sterilisation:
The recommended method for sterilisation is to place in a
steam autoclave unit and process using the following
procedure : HTM2010 – 134
o
C up to 137
o
C (observing
the autoclave’s recommended cycle time).
NB: The instruments should not be subjected to temperatures
above 375
o
F/190

Denlube Handpiece Lubricant
and Cleaning Spray
Suitable for dental turbines and slow handpieces.
It is recommended that instruments should be lubricated prior to
sterilisation, to prevent stiffening or corrosion, and ensure smooth
working action. Denlube can be used after autoclaving, but this is
a non-sterile product.
Denlube incorporates a cleaning agent which lifts and removes
dirt and grime, and contains an anti-rust agent for extended
instrument life. Lubricate handpieces and instruments before
and after autoclaving. Supplied in an aluminium CFC-Free can
containing 400ml spray.

DT77 Silicone Instrument Lubricant
Helps prolong the life of your pliers - Lubricates and Protects.
DT77 is a clear silicone lubricant which is totally odourless and
tasteless. This FDA approved material is resistant to oxidation,
thermal degradation, and a broad range of chemicals. DT77 is
stable up to temperatures of 400
o
F(204

C), and resists washout
after many autoclaves. Supplied in a fine needled syringe
that facilitates easy injection into hard to reach pivot joints,
it can also be used to protect the tips of cutters during steam
sterilisation.
Instructions for Use:
Inject DT77 as near to
the joint as possible, then
open and close the joints
several times to spread
the material. A thin smear
